Originally from Sioux City, Iowa, Kim Johnson discovered her love for the
creative process at a young age. On the advice of family and friends
concerned that she have a 'real career', Kim completed her degree in psychology
before pursuing her real passion - watercolor.

| "I started taking art classes and it was
so exciting! I loved creating paintings and amazed myself with my
accomplishments. The whole process, from the composition to
drawing to painting, is thrilling!"
From her home now in Phoenix, Arizona, Kim continues to nurture her
natural talent with watercolors to convey the complex colors and fragile
moods of her subjects. Through the guidance of her early mentors –
George Zien, Diane Maxey, Bill Lundquist, Charles Reid and Ted Nuttall – Kim
has developed and enriched her style of capturing the essence of her subjects.
Her award winning work is enjoyed by both private collectors and corporate
offices.
Kim is a signature member of AWS, NWS and WFWS. She has
expanded her work to include instructional and
demonstration sessions. To find out more about 'Studying with Kim'
